“Pink, Gold, Lace and Pearls. Help us celebrate these little girls. Don’t miss out on all the fun. Eliana and Isabella are turning ONE!”
Well, it finally happened. It Came. It went. It’s gone. The girls turned one year old and are suddenly, oddly, not considered to be babies anymore. I am left with toddlers that have no fear of the future and growing older.
I am not going to lie, I had to pull in the reigns on myself while planning this birthday. I love crafting and I love planning and organizing. I kept reminding myself that I am not made out of money and that the first birthday is more for the parents and family to celebrate. They will never remember this. With that being said, I could not have asked for a better day with better people. We were surrounded by people that love these girls to pieces. I am thankful for Amazon, Momma’s DIY spirit, my sisters and my husband that got me through this event.
But First… Smash Cake
My Mom (Mimi) really blessed these girls by ordering some SUPER adorable smash cakes. We spent the morning of the girl’s actual birthday with my mom! We let the girls have their smash cakes for breakfast. Unfortunately, the timing of their first birthday was less than perfect. The time changed the Sunday before their birthday (on a Wednesday) and the struggle was real. Either they were not hungry yet or were being little princesses, but they were NOT having any part of the frosting touching their hands. Neither baby had any smash cake that morning (they DID demolish them that night). My poor Mom. It DID still make for the CUTEST pictures so it all worked out.
I made their Tutu’s and headbands with a combination of materials from Walmart and JoAnne’s.
For the party my sister (Aunt Holly) found an amazing decoration deal on Amazon. The set has an adorable headband crown, so I just found a matching one on Amazon to order for the second baby. We used some of the balloons and the banner for decorations. Other than that, I decorated a half moon table in the hallway that opens up into the living room, and the table with food. . For the half-moon table, I used half of a pack of safety pins and the girls two pink glitter tulle crib skirts to fake a table cloth. I used some “wedding” wrapping paper, empty boxes and cut out some glitter card stock to display their nicknames on “presents”. Then I just printed some pictures from the smash cake a few days prior and threw some Publix flowers in a vase I had. A Special thank you to my sisters (Aunt Mandy and Aunt Holly) for working so hard the night before with me to make sandwiches and cut fruit and veggies.
The girls will never remember this day, but will always have pictures to look back on. They were blessed by so many people that love them dearly. Their Great Grandma, Great Aunt Julie and Great Uncle Billy were even able to be there!
I am the luckiest Mommy on earth. I get to have TWO beautiful baby girls that are so different and both completely melt my heart in different ways. Mommy and Daddy love you both more than you will ever know. I pray that we can always lead you and guide you in the way that you should go. The Lord is going to do miraculous things in both of your lives.
